    Getting Treated

The goal of hepatitis C treatment is to cure* people of hepatitis C.
*Cure means the hepatitis C virus is not detectable in your blood 6 months after you finish all treatment.

Treatment may include a combination of prescription medicines:
    • Direct-acting antiviral (DAA) pills, which must be taken in combination with peginterferon alfa and ribavirin
    • Ribavirin pills, which help to fight the hepatitis C virus together with peginterferon alfa
    • A peginterferon alfa injection, which interferes with the growth of the virus

Talk to your doctor about treatment options that may be right for you.
